Discovering Wordpress almost two years ago has reaped all sorts of benefits, let’s name a few.
- Better writer
- Networking
- More knowledge
- Exposure to social media
- Make a few bucks
- Conversations
- Connections
- Site discovery
Okay, that’s more than a few. All this goodness doesn’t happen without WordPress. Seriously, it’s that efficient, feature packed, simple and useful. WordPress’ potential in part is attributed to its supportive community.
The help and resources are easily in reach. And we haven’t mentioned plugins. If you’re a newbie, no worries, think of plugins as addons that allow you to add more options and features to your blog as needed. From Twitter feeds to content management, Wordpress does it!
Wanna see what Wordpress is capable of? See the showcase section here on the Wordpress.org site.
Wordpress also has what we call plugins. With plugins, life is easy and flexible. Need to change a feature? Or dump a specific element of your site powered by a plugin? No problem, deactivate, delete or reactivate with the click a button.
See the plugin directory here which boasts over seven thousand plugins.
Wordpress is the software that powers your site, and yes it’s free. Plus you have access to over a thousand free wordpress themes or paid themes, like thesis theme which I use here at SimplyBlog.
Hard to go wrong. Wanna taste? Visit wordpress.com and sign up for a free account. While the Wordpress software found at the dot org site is free and open source, you still have to find web hosting and purchase your own unique domain name.
What About You?
How and why do you use Wordpress?

If I came across this post 8 months ago I would probably just shrug and move on. ^^ Lucky for me, now I’m a loyal supporter for Wordpress dot org. Apart from what Miguel had shared brilliant above, I just love how we could be creative to tweak and play around with the plugins and templates freely. It’s the experience that only by trying you’ll notice the difference. Stumbled!

Ching Ya,
Yes, WP is smooth, simple and easily changeable. Because of Wordpress, I’ve learned things about the software, websites and CSS, not known before. Thanks for visiting, commenting and as always, the Stumble!
Cheers!

The more I learn about Wordpress, the more I want to learn about Wordpress. I can’t imagine that I’ll ever grow bored with it. I like what you did with your Thesis!
Hey Heather,
Thanks for visiting!
I agree, I may hit rough spots in the road when it comes to blogging- or writing- but wordpress has failed to bore me. Without a doubt, it’s the best blogging/site platform around.
Wordpress is indeed a great tool for us, bloggers. Very flexible and it’s free!
Hey Kelvin,
Can’t argue with that… also, I went to visit your site and it said your page was trying to deliver some sort of malware attack. Might want check in to that.

WP is great. Yes, your blog is simply but smart.
Btw, what is the colour code for your headlines?
Coz I like the color, I want to use that color in my personal blog header. Thanks
