Thesis 1.6 is here! For bloggers thinking about giving thesis a spin, you’ll find blog tweaking and designing easier than ever. However, while these features are exciting- especially for newbies- you’ll want to eventually learn to design sites, at least basic CSS and HTML. Don’t wanna learn? No worries, you’re still in the money.

On to the goodies!

With Thesis 1.6 bloggers can quickly change the color and overall look to their sites without using CSS code. Color controls and other tweaks include:

  • Site background color
  • Content color
  • Nav bar links and background color
  • Footer color
  • Sidebar color
  • Header background and text color
  • Headline text color
  • Multimedia box color, image box color
  • Width of content box and sidebars (if you choose to use them)
  • Display full post or post excerpts
  • Magazine style blog (see front page)
  • Easily visit related Thesis links within the WordPress dashboard
  • Change front and sizes on every aspect of your site

One of my favorite new features to Thesis 1.6 is in the nav menu. Scroll your pointer the About tab in my nav bar. It’s called nested pages.

With Thesis 1.6 tweaks to your site can be done in seconds.

I know, I know, admit it…. it’s hot!

Other features:

  • Remove all borders with one click
  • Drop down navigation menu
  • Custom file editor lets you edit custom.css and custom_function.php files within the wordpress dash!
  • No more issues using FTP login (I still use it). :)
  • More goodness is coming soon! Only a small taste, actually this is anything but small.

Overall, Thesis 1.6 is a excellent place to start for bloggers for the following reasons:

  • Want to quickly change the site’s design, color, fonts and so on.
  • Solid foundation to learn and apply CSS and PHP if desired.
  • Thesis framework is flexible- achieve any site style and look you want.
  • Support of the thesis community.
  • Lifetime upgrades!
