Gotta give a shout to Jesse from Robust Writing (congrats bro on being named to the list) for mentioning this. Wanna become a better blogger?

One critical aspect of successful blogging is your writing skills. It never hurts to strengthen your skills.

Consider subscribing to these blogs. Learn from the best (from doers not folks that just talk about doing- Thanks Tim Ferriss) and apply what you learn.

For me, better writing comes with practice, practice and more practice. Don’t fall trap to only reading about writing (save your money), DO IT!

Here’s the list according to the Delaware Employment Law Blog.

Miguel,

Thanks for the shout and the congrats.

I think there’s a “b” missing from Robust in your link.

You’re absolutely right that better writing comes from practice. We only get better by doing. Repeatedly.

Writing skills are indeed vital for the success of a blog. Without proper skills, you will not be able to convey the type of message you want to bring across to your audiences. So the only solution is write, write and write. People will certainly improve over time if they keep practicing.

I’m surprised Naomi Dunford’s ittybiz.com and Sonia Simone’s Remarkable Communicationaren’t in the list.

Anyway I’m with Wei Liang that it all boils down to consistent practice. Pretty damned good list, Mig.

Yan,

You’re right, that is surprising… I didn’t notice “Remarkable Communication” wasn’t on that list. Easily, hands down- one of the best writing sites in the blogosphere. Thanks for swinging by Yan. :)

Hey Wei,

You’re right! Learning to write comes with research and practice but it’s mostly in the doing. Write, write and continually write! :) Practice equals improvement- never perfect. If anyone is interested buy and read “On Writing Well” by William Zinsser.

Conveying a message is why we write- we desire to be understood. Ask yourself after writing a piece, did I clearly get my point across? Thanks for the input Wei!
