The Power of Less: Day 5

by Miguel Wickert

in Case Studies

Hello and Welcome to my blogging experiment inspired by “The Power of Less.” This month’s goal is to defeat the bed by waking up at 4:30 AM Monday- Friday.

Day 5

The most productive morning thus far. I previewed, wrote down and focused on at least three MITs I really wanted to accomplish the following morning. Here’s the rundown:

  • Completed MITs before 11AM!.  Gives a feeling accomplishment, fresh energy to address other tasks or errands. Now, I could focus without distraction on my writing and research for a paper which is due today. :)
  • Ran 7.00 mi @ a 09:58/mi pace with Nike+ on 04/06/2009 (run time: 1:09:49) http://bit.ly/Xu6Eo. The weather in Tulsa that morning sucked. Winds at 20-30 mph but I’m from Chicago so I shouldn’t complain. When I went to Chicago last month for CoffeeFest, I saw people running downtown in colder weather. No excuses.
  • Made a deposit into my account.
  • Followed up on a critical issue.
  • Finish small writing projects and reading assignments.

Complete these tasks helped the rest of the day flow smoothly. Stay tuned for day 6.
