The Power of Less: Day 3

by Miguel Wickert

in Case Studies

Welcome, committed to any new goals or projects? I did, climbing out of the bed at 4:30am! You think I’m crazy which is fine because you might be right. :) Read day 1 here: The Power of Less in Practice.

Why? For the sake of productivity: preview my day, quite time, writing and because I love to challenge myself.

Aims

  • Set at least 3 MITs (Most Important Tasks) each morning.
  • Develop and follow a morning routine

Today’s Timeline:

  • Alarm sounds at 4:30am. I’m feeling rough because I went to bed late.
  • I turned off the alarm and slept until 5:30.
  • Brewed fresh tea
  • Reviewed and determined today’s MITs
  • Avoided emails
  • read more N.T Wright

The experience wasn’t like yeasterday but that’s fine because this is about developing habits in small steps. Press through setbacks, you’ll get there. Leo recommends 12 habits (one for each month).1 Here’s the first five:

  1. Set your 3 MITs each morning.
  2. Single-task (let your vision be single).
  3. Process your in-box to empty.
  4. Check e-mail just twice a day
  5. Exercise five to ten minutes a day

How might your life be changed if developed one of these habits (single-vision) this month?
