When they say a picture is worth a thousand words, they’re right… but for me- this represents one thing: I missed the mark. I didn’t even hit the 50 point ring. In my quest to wake up at 4:30 AM Mon-Fri, days 8- 10 were tough, to say the least.
Here’s a observation from those failed attempts.
Observation 1: Running and weight lifting make it harder to wake up the following morning.
I know, that’s not a insightful, pretty or profound statement, only the truth. Your body feels trashed because of the muscle soreness, and generally, may need more sleep. If you’re active and push yourself to achieve your fitness, strength and conditioning goals, you know what I’m talking about. Your body demands more. By the way, here’s the numbers from my last run To fully recover :
- Sleep. I need at least seven hours.
- Eat well. Eating, especially protein following heavy workouts.
- Don’t workout the same groups of muscles on connective days (48-72 hrs between).
- What else? (what helps you)
On each day I struggled to function. And I didn’t accomplish, to put it bluntly, nothing. Again, working through setbacks is part of what it takes to develop me habits. I don’t care what anyone says- it’s never easy. No worries, I’ll get back to the grind on Monday.
