What is Social Marker?

This service may be what you’ve been looking for, and the sweet thing about it, you guessed it, FREE! Social Marker allows the user to submit their site to multiple bookmarking sites with ease.

How does it work?

They have provided a button to drag to your bookmarks toolbar. Next, when you’ve found a site you want to submit to or “socially mark,” select the text and click the Social Marker button.

Why Social Marker?

Here’s the reasons they gave.

It can help you spread a link on 49 of the best social bookmarking sites in under 15 minutes!

  • It helps you get a lot of backlinks.
  • It helps you increase your traffic.
  • Your link gets indexed by Google in a matter of minutes.
  • Best of all, it’s free!

Personal Reaction

Before you know it, you’re submitting to multiple sites quick and stress free. Using a tool like Social Marker can be quite helpful unless you don’t have profiles on many of the social sites linked.

I don’t care how many social bookmarking sites people submit their blogs to, if your not active: joining related groups, discussions and so forth, people or potential customers may not ever take notice.

Listen, this tool is not for everyone. It can make life a bit easier but if you’re not contributing to the blogosphere, which is people, something of value, then don’t expect much in return.

If you don’t have much money to spend on site submission, there’s no harm done in giving Social Marker a try.

Fantastic post. Looks convenient enough and comes in handy when it comes to article submissions. Miguel, you’re right, submissions do not promise a definite traffic flooding in that particular site, is the self-involvement in the community that ensures getting known. It’s my wish to have both blogging + social networking handled well, as both gives me great joy and pleasure. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Miguel, suddenly thought of a question, maybe it’s a stupid one, but, may I?
‘Since it’s so convenient, I can’t help but wondering there may be some people using it for spamming; how the sites be able to separate us from the spammers?’

Pretty silly huh? I don’t know, it just suddenly comes into my mind, with the thoughts of large quantity of submissions in such a short time. Or maybe it’s not something we should be worrying about since we’re not spammers? =)

Hi Ching Ya

A professor of mine use to say, “there’s never a wrong or stupid question just an incomplete one.” :) Yeah, that would fall back onto the site administrators and what they deem as spamming… True, you’re no spammer.

Having creative ways to help avoid wasting time is a plus. Learning to become efficient is imperative for our success. To be honest, since narrowing my focus, I don’t use many social sites beyond a select core. As always, thanks for visiting and asking! :) Please, ask away!
