Welcome, in my last post you learned about the coming release of Roadmap to Become a Blogger by Yaro Starak and Gideon Shalwick- now live, the ebook can now be downloaded for FREE! I’ve read the report, it’s worth your time. It’s about 72 pages of goodness!
Yaro’s new blogging program, become a blogger uses videos tutorials to help new and intermediate bloggers to easily create a blog without the hassle. Listen, you don’t have to sign up for anything. The site already offers 10 free video training.
Grab the report [here]
The Roadmap to Become A Blogger
The premise of the report, to improve your chances of success- target five key milestones:
- Milestone #1 – Discover your
passion - Milestone #2 – Discover the need
- Milestone #3 – Test your market
- Milestone #4 – Focus your efforts
- Milestone #5 – Start making money
The aim, each milestone builds off the next, leading you in the right direction.
If you want more details about the Roadmap report, Mert from Search for Blogging previews significant points he was pleased with.
Even if you don’t want to sign up or another membership blogging program, I can’t blame you, there’s plenty to go around but the Roadmap report is free, as well as access to 10 free training videos.
My Reaction
Remember, I’m not about hyping up fluff and if I think something is a waste of time- don’t worry, I’ll be the first to tell you! I read the report. It will help you, period. Is it the be all to end all, no. It challenges you to think about your passions and goals with respect to determining your blogging niche and so on. Next, what are gaps or needs in that niche that need to be discovered?
Roadmap to become a blogger examines the various social media sites you need to build a presence on. Sound advice, from someone, Yaro- the proof is in the pudding.
This should do for now, I’m not going to give more details about the book’s content. It’s worth the read and your time.

As I was browsing through your blog, I wonder which stage of milestone I am at right now. I’m guessing no.1 as I’ve started blogging for like 3-4 months now, and never thought it would be this enjoyable. It’s a passion alright. Hopefully I’ll make it a coutinuous effort, and reach stage 5 eventually. It would be a great joy to make a living by doing something you love. Perhaps you could drop by and give me some pointers on how am I doing so far? Highly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, thanks for visiting! Nice, you’ve been blogging between 3 to 4 months. Congrats! Yeah, that passion is huge, but as you already know, more is required. I remember when I started blogging. I wanted everyone to come to me, to write on my page, to do for me and so on.
However, I learned that if I wanted to make a difference or grow as a blogger, there were a few approaches and attitudes that needed adjusting.
1. Must be willing to serve and help others
2. Must be willing to learn from others.
3. Don’t resort to spamming; if we are selfish, we just want, a glorified sammer (in my book).
4. Be useful and inspire others
5. Allow your passion for blogging to become a driving force to help others. We are a part of a larger community (blogosphere), passion for blogging is passion for interaction with people.
I went to view your profile, you already have three sites!

Thanks alot Miguel. Well, my focus point is at my main blog (shown in the website stated here), whereas the other two, 1 is hibernating while the drama blog still on-going. ha.. I guess when I started, I just feel like trying them all out. But it’s better to focus for now, 2 is enough to get me going, and time seems never enough for me.
All the best, will anticipating for more good stuff from this site. Thanks again. =)

Hey, Miguel –
I couldn’t find an email or contact box for you – just a heads up – some of your links to The Roadmap are broken and end up in 404 land. You might want to check them.
Nice site – I use thesis also for my personal blog – stop by if you get a chance and leave me a message. Us “little guys” need to stick together and help each other!

Another interesting post. I hope you don’t mind that I am reading them in the wrong order.

There is one question that keeps coming back: how do you define a successful blogger? So often I get the impression, you are only “successful” if you make money with it. This means, since you say, you don’t make money from blogging, you are not successful?
Let me put the question the other way round – if making money is not my motivation for blogging, does that mean that all the tons of social media advice everywhere are useless for me?
Jutta’s last blog post..Zitat der Woche * Quote of the week
Hey Jutta,
Not at all, feel free to read in whatever order you desire.
Ah, good questions… being successful in anything depends on how one views success. Money shouldn’t be what drives us but sadly, it often is. If your blogging satisfy you, your audience (because of related interests, a sense of community and so on), and you’re not making money- who cares unless you have bills to pay and no source of income. Some folks are in tough situations. Being a successful blogger is about sharing, learning, discipline and respect for others in the blogosphere: the wider blogging community. We all have a part or can help to meet a need. So, success might be located not in what you benefit from- rather, what have others benefited from because of you (not surprisingly, when something like this occurs- opportunities do as well.
As far as social media, yeah much of the junk out there is individualistic, and yeah, simply junk Apparently, there’s tons of social media experts everywhere? Says who? and how did they suddenly become an expert? Haha, I always get a kick out of those jokers. Anyhow, love the questions… thought provoking.
What do you think about my responses? Hopefully, I’m going in the right direction here. Still working through various thoughts about how we define a successful blogger? Again, being happy with your work fits into the equation but there’s obviously more involved.
-Mig
Thanks for your answer. Your response is very helpful.
I can see that there are many people who desperately need some income. I only have a hard time filtering out what of all the SEO and blogging advice is really relevant for me, if making money is not the goal.
According to some advisers, to be successful, you need to invest at least 2 hrs. It took me some time to realize that this means two hrs per day which I rarely have on a regular basis.
So does that mean I just give up, because there is no way, I can be “successful”?
It is all very confusing.
Jutta’s last blog post..Doing or being
I wish I knew a better way to gauge being a successful blogger than believing to be one. If one can decide he is a successful blogger based on personally-selected criteria, then he can elect to be a social media expert based on the same rationale.
Tyson,
Good point, something many didn’t touch on in our previous discussion. Confidence is one central but your point is well taken. Each person can’t be a self proclaimed expert because they believe themselves to be.
Thanks for sharing!
