I read a lot… I don’t think you understand. Not only online but reading hardcover or sometimes paperback books. Find a balance. Anyhow, I follow StrongLifts.com and Strong Lifts reviewed a ebook called Eat Stop Eat by Brad Pilon. Read it here, you won’t be sorry (Not an affiliate link). I won’t recount all the details to Eat Stop Eat. Last week after reading 90 pages on the topic, well, you know the saying “knowledge is power.”
Exactly.
I fasted from 8pm on Monday to 8pm Tuesday. So, how did I manage?
- Prepare for productivity. For me, completing tasks, errands and so on, it about knowing exactly what you intend to accomplish before hand.
- Fasting made easy. It’s easy to say “just don’t think about food.” Keep moving, decultter your apartment, run errands for a loved one, hit up the out doors. Yes, it’s okay to workout without eating. Brad shatters the old myth in his ebook.
- Ignore the stomach talk. Don’t freak, the pain and noises leave after a few minutes.
- Keep water, tea and coffee near. I’m a coffee freak! Actually, I’m also an avid tea drinker. As for water, I drink more water than anything else!
- Mental Toughness. Quite the voices/thoughts: For me, music helps, running or reading. Find what works for you and stick with it.
- What else? What helps you?
Yesterday, I started the fast at 6pm and ended at 6pm today. My fast went smoother than last time. Momentum and confidence continue to rise. Starting this week, I’ll be fasting twice a week. Seriously, fasting has never need this easy. A significant motivator is the amount I’m accomplishing on fast days. We consume more than we need to in this country anyway, you’ll feel good about yourself when you can look yourself in the face and realize that you’re no slave to food.
Minimalism
Thanks to Leo from Zenhabits.com for the inspiration. See his other blog on minimalism here and his links page here for more sites on living a minimalist lifestyle. Decluttering can be contagious. Over the past few weeks I’ve given away stuff not serving any purpose outside of just taking space. If it hasn’t been used or worn in the last six months, it’s gone.
Leo discusses this and then some in his new Ebook called The Simple Guide to A Minimalist Life (Not an affiliate link). This short but useful guide introduces the reader to minimalism- offering small simple steps to help jump start the reader. Next, Leo encourages the reader to consider minimalism in other areas of life.

Sometimes I think you should have a self-development site, Miguel. ^^ I tried fasting before, it was quite of a long time ago, and I wasn’t alone in it so maybe that’s why it wasn’t too hard as you have companions in it. I would say ‘not think about the food and keep yourself busy with something else’ pretty much did the trick for me.
