Speed Reading

During my college years ( only recently over) I remember the first time I heard about speed reading. Several guys were discussing different methods used to stay on top of their weekly reading assignments.

I was so distracted with my social life I never picked up any speed reading skills. Well, as time went on and classes become more demanding, I knew it was time to embrace some method of speed reading.

“Speed reading is a collection of reading methods which attempt to increase rates of reading without greatly reducing comprehension or retention.” (Wiki)

My girlfriend’s brother found this site called “Spreeder,” an online speed reading application. There is a nifty feature that allows you to copy in any selected text from anywhere on the net.

Online Books (Free)

For free online books sites visit: Project Gutenberg or 2020ok a free online book directory.

Spreeder also allows individuals to set specific settings like words per min, font size, background color, chunk size, etc. Lastly, don’t forget to add the browser plugin to your tool bar.

I love to read and sometimes find myself scanning but no speed reading. My mom speed reads and I would like to learn. Great post.
