- Grid it out: Stick with it-developing a blog worth reading takes time. We know how tough starting and maintaining a blog is. If you don’ know you will soon enough! The vastness of the blogosphere can be intimidating! If you work hard, people will take notice. Over 128,000 blog start ups occur daily, how many actually remain alive after the hype is gone?
- Stay consistent: Develop a blogging schedule. Remove distractions, plan times for writing; put your schedule on paper and follow it religiously. Readers appreciate a site that’s regularly updated.
- Build Momentum: It doesn’t take much. Take it slow, don’t allow yourself to be consumed with tomorrow. One day at a time, your blog, readers and writing deserve your undivided attention. Before you know it you’ll be on a roll. As you become more disciplined, your confidence will also improve.
- Play as a team: Link out, help new bloggers and invite new and upcoming bloggers to guest post on your site. Find something you like on another blog, drop a quality comment and so on. Don’t be afraid to learn from others.
- Share the ball: Don’t only share your links. Share the ball, show some love to other bloggers. Leave room for input. Allow your readers to participate in your blog post.
- You need Fans: The fans make a world of difference: as a blogger you need the support of others. Every blogger loves comment. What do you prefer? A lot of hits without comments or lower hits with more comments, and
- Fans energize their teams: The same holds true of bloggers and their readers. You don’t have to think long and hard to know that your readers bring energy, fresh ideas and an insightful perspective.
- Show respect to the veterans: Who are the trend setters? Who’s been in the game for years? Know the big hitters! Learn for the experienced.
- Play By The Rules: Don’t spam! Your spamming if you leave crappy comments, don’t contribute anything of value; to the blogosphere which includes your interaction with other bloggers, blogs or lack there of, not having a presence on social sites, expecting people to do all of the giving. It must be a two way conversations!
